SUPPORT GROUPS
St. John is honored to provide a meeting place and support for AA, NA and AL ANON. We believe that we must grant love and grace to all who enter our doors and that Jesus Christ is our hope and the answer for all of us to all of life’s issues. May the peace, the healing power and love of God be granted to all.
These groups meet each Friday evening at St. John UMC, 4536 Teays Valley Road, Scott Depot. If you are looking for an AA, NA OR AL ANON Support Group, please feel free to join us. Contact the church office for more information at 304.757.6343.

NA
NA is a nonprofit fellowship or society of men and women for whom drugs had become a major problem. We are recovering addicts who meet regularly to help each other stay clean. This is a program of complete abstinence from all drugs. There is only one requirement for membership, the desire to stop using. We suggest that you keep an open mind and give yourself a break. Our program is a set of principles written so simply that we can follow them in our daily lives. The most important thing about them is that they work.
There are no strings attached to NA. We are not affiliated with any other organizations. We have no initiation fees or dues, no pledges to sign, no promises to make to anyone. We are not connected with any political, religious, or law enforcement groups, and are under no surveillance at any time.
Anyone may join us regardless of age, race, sexual identity, creed, religion, or lack of religion. We are not interested in what or how much you used or who your connections were, what you have done in the past, how much or how little you have, but only in what you want to do about your problem and how we can help. The newcomer is the most important person at any meeting, because we can only keep what we have by giving it away. We have learned from our group experience that those who keep coming to our meetings regularly stay clean.
St. John is honored to provide a meeting place and support for NA. They meet each Friday evening at 7:00 in the Library/Conference Room. If you are looking for an NA Support Group, please feel free to join us.
Al-a-Non
Al-Anon is a worldwide fellowship of men and women from all walks of life who have been affected by the family disease of alcoholism. Some were born into an alcoholic family and lived in that situation their entire lives, while others came into contact with alcoholism later in life through various experiences. Regardless of whom, how or when someone became intimate with the disease, the effects are unquestionably the same. Commonly we experienced feelings of guilt, frustration, confusion, anxiety, anger, sadness and various levels of depression prior to participating in the Al-Anon way of lifeā¦and that is exactly what it can become, a changed lifestyle that is bound to improve the family situation.
St. John is honored to provide a meeting place and support for Al Anon. They meet each Friday evening at 8:00 in Room 200. If you are looking for an Al Anon Support Group, please feel free to join us.
